NHL First Period Tracker

Privacy Policy

About this application

NHL First Period Tracker is an independent, personal hockey analytics application. It collects publicly available NHL game statistics to calculate first-period scoring trends and matchup projections. Its public website provides information about the application without requiring visitors to sign in.

Google account information and permissions

The application uses Google OAuth authorization to access the Gmail API. It requests the gmail.send permission solely to send automated NHL analytics reports from an account that has authorized the application.

The application uses the authorized Gmail account to send reports to a recipient configured by the application operator. It does not request permission to read Gmail messages, browse the inbox, access contacts, or delete email.

How Google user data is used

Google authorization credentials are used to authenticate requests to Gmail's email-sending service. The application generates hockey reports from NHL game statistics and submits outgoing messages through the Gmail API.

The application does not use Google account information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or selling personal information.

Storage and security

OAuth authorization credentials are stored in a private application configuration directory on the operator's server, separate from this public website. File access is restricted using operating-system permissions.

The public website does not contain OAuth credentials, Gmail access tokens, private server configuration, or the application's NHL statistics database.

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect credentials, although no system can guarantee absolute security.

Sharing and disclosure

The application communicates with Google's Gmail API to send requested reports. Outgoing email messages and report attachments are delivered to the configured email recipient and processed by the email providers involved in delivery.

Google authorization credentials are not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for unrelated marketing.

Retention and deletion

OAuth credentials are retained on the private application server while authorization is needed for automated email delivery. The operator can delete locally stored authorization credentials when the integration is no longer required.

Generated NHL reports and game statistics may be retained for historical analysis. These reports are based on hockey statistics rather than private Gmail message content.

Sent email messages may remain subject to the retention policies of the sending and receiving email accounts.

Revoking Google access

The authorizing account owner can revoke the application's access through Google Account settings under third-party connections. After revocation, the application must be reauthorized before it can send additional emails through Gmail.

Website hosting

This informational website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical request information necessary for hosting, delivery, and security. The website does not provide a visitor registration form or intentionally include advertising trackers.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated when the application's functionality or data handling practices change. The updated policy will be published on this page.
